Dori and Blake's destination wedding on The Big Island of Hawaii was a three day, all out celebration. These two know how to have fun, and as an event planner herself, she wanted a weekend that everyone would enjoy and that was decorated and designed to absolute perfection! We were asked to join the fun as friends of Dori and Blake, and also we work very closely with Dori for all of her events nationwide. We of course began with the wedding logo using the bride's colors of sand and sea green. Dori had grown up going to Hawaii to her parent's home there, so it was a no brainer on where she would have the wedding! The save the dates were a vintage style postcard with an image watermarked in the background of the club where the reception was held, with a custom sea green liner. For the Thursday night welcome party invitations we did a little play on their Southern roots, and it read, "Aloha, Y'all!"! The rehearsal dinner was not only oceanfront, but actually ON the sand outside the Mauna Kea Resort. It was at sunset and absolutely magnificent. For the escort cards we created tiny beach towels that were done in calligraphy, with tiny umbrellas, for each guest. These were unbelievably time consuming and the beach wind didn't help, but every person mentioned how amazing they were! We were proud! At each place setting there were custom menu cards with the guests name printed on top, which served as the place card as well. Then another little favorite from that night were the custom croakies at each place setting that read, "Their future's so bright" and had an imprint of "Dori and Blake" along with the date. Now when guests fly to Hawaii to celebrate your wedding, it's only appropriate to greet them with a destination wedding welcome bag filled with goodies! These bags were stocked full of the bride and groom's favorite treats; custom monogrammed beach towels, Jack Daniels, Kona coffee, chocolate covered macadamia nuts, and our favorite, decks of playing cards with a tag reading, "Blake played his cards right"! So cute! After helping Dori create invitations and events for clients for the past 5 years, it was so fun to get to help do her OWN wedding! Cheers to destination weddings and to Dori and Blake!
