Blue and White Ginger Jar Birthday

We have the most fabulous ginger jar birthday dinner to share with you all today inspired by all things blue and white! This past summer, one of our long time clients, Jessica, came to us wanting something special for milestone birthday. She planned to host a seated dinner at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in downtown Nashville for her closest friends, using one of our dear friends, planner Dori Waller of The Social Office. The inspiration began with two things; Jessica’s favorite color combo of blue and white and this photo of the elegant Tory Burch’s New York City apartment living room.

The moss colored velvet walls instantly made us think of using moss somehow with the invitations. We decided to line a mailer box with real moss, and painted a watercolor logo of Jessica’s monogram. We know Jessica’s design aesthetic well after helping her with her business branding of her interior design business, and years of custom Christmas cards for her gorgeous family.

We incorporated a moss greek key patterned border, a moss colored satin belly band, and a seal of the blue and white watercolor monogram. Each invitation was mailed in a coordinating cobalt blue box, with custom labels and calligraphy by Val Cole. The finishing touch on each box were custom stamps featuring the monogram. We love the way multiple stamps look on an envelope, or a fab mailer box!

Blue and white is so classic and timeless and ginger jars were the perfect accent for the table scape Dori and her team designed. They used blue glassware from Vintage Vessels, chairs from Please be Seated rentals and green and white florals by Tulip Tree.

Each place setting featured a blue pocket with hand calligraphy of the guest’s name, serving not only as a place card, but menu holder as well! The menu cards we designed using the same watercolor monogram from the invitation belly bands.  It was a gorgeous luncheon and a celebration of 40 fabulous years for Jessica!

The blue and white obsession continues for us and we love how it can be incorporated into so many different design elements; fashion, interior design, paper design, and ceramics! This blue and white all floral blouse and skirt by none other than Tory Burch, is so chic and timeless.

Not sure if you all have noticed the comeback of wallpaper, but we are totally on board. Especially for smaller spaces such as powder rooms. Simple clean white towels, chrome fixtures, and a silver pagoda mirror with this blue and white chinoiserie wallpaper is just beyond! Image via Pinterest.
